Thank you for providing such an extensive (and long overdue) source for interested parties. Since first seeing his prints included in Before and After Science in the seventies, I've always been curious in his work. Your site not only confirmed my expectations, but sparks my interest in his work even more. I'll be checking back frequently!

A fantastic website. Peter was a great teacher and feel very lucky that he and Michael Werner were running Watford School of Art, when I was a student there. I still have the drawing's I produced for his book, A Secret In Stone....they hold great memories!
Thank you for this tribute to him.

I am very very interested in the artist Peter Schmidt, as an art tutor this site has been very helpful for me. Thanks, Max Joseph

"Look at September, look at October" is the most beautiful painting I´ve ever seen.

I was fortunate enough to be taught by Peter in the mid 60s. I didn't recognise that at the time of course and only later did I begin to wish I had listened more carefully. However, some things did sink in and throughout my life working as a designer I have borne in mind much of what he said.

Hi there John,
we have been meaning to sign the guestbook since January 08 so it is about time!
Thank you so much for your continuing work as a researcher/collector etc of Peter's work in its many manifestations.
The website is an excellent work in and of itself and so informative and close to the artist and easy to use.
Dont want to eulogise too much, that is not in Peter's spirit - so thank you.

I always hoped someone would make a Peter Schmidt website someday. Absolutely wonderful to find so much of his work at last. Many thanks and best wishes.

Your partner pointed me towards this site through myspace. I have to say how wonderful it is to see such a project dedicated to such a great but under represented artist as Peter.

I first came across his work through the idle ramblings one night on Cape Cornwall of an artist friend of mine who told me about his other work outside of the Oblique Strategies cards he and Brian put together.

I use those cards every time I reach a creative dilemma and have run out of steam, both in my research work as a scientist and as a musician and photographer. I've added a lot of my own to the pile as well, I think that was partly the intention to spur others on to create their own random ideas.

But there is so much more to his work than this and I thank you so much for putting this site together, a real inspiration and so interesting to learn more about the person I never knew but has had such an influence on my work in science and art.

Thank you.
